Jazz Era Vintage Dress

Ending 2019 in My Jazz Era Vintage Dress

Hi Guys! It’s almost time!! Only hours stand between us and a new decade! Sounds crazy, right? I found it to be most fitting that I would be blogging about my Jazz Era Dress for my last blog post of 2019!! Why might you ask? Well, because I was featured in a MAGAZINE!!!!

Back in late July, Ann from Designer Stitch , made a tester call for the Jazz Era Dress that would be included in the Vintage Made Magazine December edition. I jumped at the opportunity. Vintage Made Magazine is an Australian publication which features People and Fashion; Lifestyle and Entertainment; Craft; Food; Technology; Columns. The magazine also includes the full size Jazz Era Dress pattern and very detailed instructions. If you don’t recall, I was previously featured in Vintage Made Magazine in my Rocka Billy Dress. That was my very 1st magazine publication.

Based on my body measurements I made a size 4 with a B cup and graded at the waist to a size 7 and the fit was perfect. The dress features a cami style bodice and is loose fitting through out the bodice and waist. The pattern also has a 3 layered skirt. I made my dress using a red poly satin fabric for the bodice and I used a similar shade of red chiffon for the skirt portion. I decided to be a little risky and not add a lining to the skirt portion, but you can feel free to add it. I didn’t see it necessary. I thought the 3 layers of fabric were suffice.

I love everything about my Jazz Era Dress. It is so classic and I think the accessories I purchased were perfect! I found this 1920s flapper accessory set from Amazon that came with everything I needed and then some! I received everything you see me wearing except the dress and shoes.
