Are you feeling like it’s Christmas in July? Well I do! I want to share with you all my feature in the Vintage Made issue 15 wearing my Dita Holiday Dress. I feel like it’s Christmas in July because I made this dress soooo long ago! I’m so excited that I can finally share because the new edition of the Vintage Magazine is out!

Everytime a tester call comes out for Vintage Made Magazine, I jump on the opportunity to make whatever it is! I don’t normally sew anything Vintage so it’s pretty cool to get out of my comfort zone. I’ve loved all the vintage makes I’ve made so far for Vintage Made Magazine and you can read about them HERE, HERE and HERE. WOW, yes I’ve been featured 4 times!! It just doesn’t get old to me.

Let’s get into this dress yall! I couldn’t wait to share this with you all since I made this back in March! Seems like a life time ago. This was pre covid life. The Dita Holiday Dress has serveral options you can make it in for skirt and sleeve length. I made a straight size 5 based on my body measurements and made the tea lenght and 3/4 lenghth sleeves. Did you notice these beautiful sleeves?? I’m kind of mad I made my dress in black because it’s hard to see the beautiful detail. Just know they are puffy, classy and just perfect.

Speaking of fabric. Want to hear a funny story? Well, I used to own a business and would do craft shows. I wanted a pretty table cloth and I went into Joann and purchased some black velvet fabric. This was way before I even thought about sewing. Fast forward to last March when I was shopping my fabric stash and guess what I found? I’m so glad saved the fabric. See, sometimes it pays to be a hoarder. lol JK.

So, we’ve discussed how much I love these sleeves, but I also love the keyhole neckline. It’s so classy and feminine. I attached this beautiful button that looks like it could be a brooch. I loved this button so much that I decided to make DIY button earrings! Yes, I did and I also made a tutorial that you can follow along with. You can do this with just about any button! Don’t you love it?

Make sure you watch the video and don’t forget to like, comment and subscribe! I would love to see your DIY Button Earrings. Make sure you tag @soveryjo on all your socials!
